As a young director of training for the first Peace Corps team in the Comoros Islands, I realized the importance of asking the right people the right questions. If we were going to build a program that met real needs, we had to engage a range of people in working together on issues of importance to them. That is, we all had to think about why we were doing what we were doing. And for whom.
That experience and what we learned led me to earn a doctorate in Program Evaluation and Planning at Cornell University and start a program evaluation business. Since then, I worked with a wide range of educational, health, economic, and youth programs in places as different as Cartago, Costa Rica and Montgomery Creek, California.
After spending several years as an evaluator and educator involved with community groups, I began dreaming of bringing these skills to organizations ready to take their programs to the next level. Along the way I have gathered and created tools to engage people in activities that build capacities to think differently, create better designs, and gather evidence of what works well and why.
Now more than ever, you, as program leader, are called to respond in new ways to unprecedented challenges that threaten to undermine years of good work. Sometimes you need a thought partner, someone who can help you envision new solutions. When we work together, I bring more than 25 years of experience in program development and evaluation support to your organization. Through professional learning, creative thinking experiences, and proven program development tools, my associates and I help you respond creatively to today's challenges to create tomorrow's successes.
